What to look at in The Pokies' own terms:
- Deposit play-through. The T&C ask deposits to be played once for PayID and 3 times for cards (T&C, Withdrawals 4); the Pay-outs page asks 3 times at odds of 1.80 or more, or the casino "reserves the right in its absolute discretion to cancel the respective deposit(s)" (Pay-outs page).
- Wagering. Bonuses need 40 times the bonus, table and live games count 3%, and no deposit or withdrawal is possible while a bonus is active (bonus terms). An AUD 500 bonus means AUD 20,000 in bets (our arithmetic).
- No-deposit cap. Winnings from any no-deposit bonus, the AUD 10 welcome bonus included, are capped at an amount shown only "on the bonus when you activate it"; the excess is forfeited (bonus terms).
- Phone check. A phone check of name, address, payment methods and bets found "unsatisfactory" lets the casino close the account and confiscate winnings; unusual activity not explained within 30 days ends the account (AML policy).
- Linked accounts. For accounts linked by family, home, phone, IP or device, the casino "reserves the right to withhold any cash or bonus winnings and to withhold deposited funds" (AML policy).
Also in these terms: "strategies" banned while a bonus is active, an account suspended and funds withheld on a suspected breach, transaction voids that "may not be contested", one Live Baccarat table at a time, winnings cancelled on another person's e-wallet, funds blocked when deposited and withdrawn without play, the casino's decision on advantage play as final, no outside dispute body named. About
The Pokies makes four licence claims on its own pages: PAGCOR in the T&C, Curaçao without a number, “1688/JAZ” and “sublicense N.V #365/JAZ”, with no company, seal or regulator link behind any of them (Verified, read from Sydney, 14 Oct 2026 → Licences).
PAGCOR in the T&C, the 365/JAZ wording, a “Why play” page and a payout rule at odds of 1.80 also appear on Royal Reels (Verified, 14–16 Oct 2026 → Terms). ACMA called thepokies.net “one of the most significant websites to be blocked” on 16 Jun 2022, and that domain is now a landing page whose Sign up leads to a numbered address through an affiliate-tagged link (Verified, acma.gov.au and read from Sydney, 14 Oct 2026 → ACMA, Domains). Payout rules differ between its pages, from the method to the turnover required (Verified, 14 Oct 2026 → Terms).
